HYDROGEN DEFEATS GASOLINE ON A STREET CIRCUIT IN THE NETHERLANDSTHE HAGUE (The Netherlands), 19 August 2010 – Greenchoice Forze hydrogen fuel cell race team from the Technical University Delft has won the Formula Zero race in The Hague, the Netherlands on Thursday. The students team battled in a series of five flying laps against a gasoline powered go-kart around a 250 metres circuit near city hall. The zero emission racing vehicle from the students appeared to be the quickest competitor in four out of five rounds. It was the first time in Formula Zero’s history that a zero emission vehicle competed against a vehicle on conventional fuel. |

TNO BEST GRADUATES ENJOY GOODWOOD FESTIVAL OF SPEEDRemco Enserink and Lennart Verheijen were one of TNO’s best competitors in the Best Graduates Game. Both received the opportunity to test drive the electric Tesla Roadster on an oval and a trip to the famous Goodwood Festival of Speed. The 26 year old men from Den Bosch, the Netherlands, were impressed by the various creative, innovative and decorative cars from all kind of brands and enjoyed their stay in ‘motorsport heaven’. Both activities were organized by Formula Zero. |

RENAULT F1 DRIVER TESTS FORMULA ZEROTHE HAGUE – Renault F1 test driver Ho-Pin Tung revealed TU Delfts third generation hydrogen race vehicle in The Hague on Wednesday. The experienced driver from Velp got behind the wheel and showed press and general public what the vehicle of the student team is capable of. The team says this zero emission race vehicle is about to win the Formula Zero Dutch Grand Prix that will take place on August 19th at the Spuiplein in The Hague. |

HYDROGEN RACE TEAM TU DELFT DE JANEIROGreenchoice Forze, Formula Zero team from the TU Delft, made its first appearance with their hydrogen electric gokart in Rio de Janeiro. They demonstrated their zero emission vehicle to international press and car industry on the Nelson Piquet circuit. Reason for the visit is the Michelin Challenge Bibendum event which pays attention to sustainable mobility. |

KETTERING UNIVERSITY ENTERS FORMULA ZERO CHAMPIONSHIPKettering University, formerly known as General Motors Institute, has entered the Formula Zero Championship 2010. The Michigan (USA) based team, is currently designing and building a zero emission vehicle to compete in this year’s competition among other top universities and companies. “It is natural for us to invest our resources in new fuel cell hybrid electric vehicle technology and we believe Formula Zero is the perfect platform for us to demonstrate our capabilities”, says team leader Amit Khamkar. |

DUTCH VICTORY IN ITALY'S FIRST ZERO EMISSION GRAND PRIXTURIN/ROTTERDAM - The first Italian zero emission Grand Prix has been won by Greenchoice Forze from the Technical University Delft, the Netherlands. The ‘Formula Zero Gran Prix Torino’ was held in the framework of the Eco-Efficiency Biennial organized by Environment Park and supported by Piedmont Region in the Valentino Park (Turin, Italy). The demonstration event was successful: the battle for 0th position between the student teams with vehicles powered by hydrogen and fuel cell technology was close and many interested spectators and dignitaries attended the Italian premiere. |

CHAUFFEURS TO TEST ELECTRIC VEHICLESLelystad, the Netherlands – 21 management chauffeurs from major Dutch companies and various ministries were introduced to electric mobility at the test circuit of RDW Lelystad. This event was organized by Formula Zero in co-operation with energy supplier Essent, Ministry of Transport, Public Works and Water Management and Tendris Remotion. 80 percent of the present chauffeurs attitude on driving electric cars privately or professionally in the near future was positive. |

BELGIAN TEAM WINS ON HOME SOILSolvay Umicore Zero Emission Racing Team was Saturday 29th of August the team to beat during the Formula Zero Belgian GP, which is part of the Formula Zero European Championship. The students from Groep-T, Leuven, were pleased by taking 0th place with a comfortable margin at their home Grand Prix at Circuit Genk. With only one event left, it will be a hard objective for main rival UnizartecH2 to prevent the team from taking the championship in world’s first racing series powered by hydrogen and fuel cell technology. |

UNIZARTECH2 SURPRISINGLY WINS DUTCH GPAfter winning the Formula Zero British GP, the Solvay Umicore Zero Emission Racing Team from Leuven, Belgium, seemed unbeatable during the Formula Zero Dutch GP which was held on Sunday 23rd of August 2009 at Kombikart Circuit Nieuw-Zevenbergen near Oss, the Netherlands. But the Belgian team found some minor technical difficulties during the final of the main race. UnizartecH2 (Zaragoza, Spain) was quick as well took advantage of slower lap of their main rival and won the Dutch GP. |

TU DELFT UNVEILES NEW VEHICLEDELFT - The new hydrogen vehicle of Greenchoice Forze, the Formula Zero team Delft, has been unveiled last week. Ivo Opstelten, former mayor of Rotterdam, together with Dutch racing driver and former Le Mans winner, Jan Lammers officially unveiled the students’ hydrogen kart at the sports centre of the Delft University of Technology. Ivo Opstelten praised the students’ initiative and said he was honored to give the starting signal together with Jan Lammers. “In this project I see the future of motorsport” said Jan Lammers. |

BELGIAN TEAM SETS UNOFFICIAL WORLD RECORDZOLDER –Solvay Umicore Zero Emission Racing Team, which is competing in the Formula Zero Championship, has set an unofficial new record with their hydrogen powered vehicle. At the Belgian Circuit Zolder, the students from Leuven drove an 1/8 mile in 10,4 seconds. Which was much faster than the official record of 11,6 seconds. Unfortunately due absence of a FIA representative, the record attempt could not be registered as an official new world record. |

BRITISH FZ-GP POSTPONEDUnfortunately we are forced to cancel the upcoming race at Brands Hatch of 1-3 May and postpone the British FZ-GP until further notice. Due to the economical circumstances the provisional financial support that was given didn't get finalized. We are sorry that we have had to take this decision and understand that this has implications for the championship as a whole. ZEF SOLE PARTNER FOR FORMULA ZERO IN MIDDLE EASTAMSTERDAM / LONDON – Rabih El Fadel from ZEF Ltd and Formula Zero have signed a memorandum of understanding for Formula Zero in the Middle East. ZEF will be the sole partner of the Dutch based zero emission racing series in this region. The goal is to establish at least two Formula Zero racing events in the Middle East per year. |

SPANISH TEAM WINS EXCITING FORMULA ZERO SPRINT RACE IN ROTTERDAMROTTERDAM – The Formula Zero event in Rotterdam came to a thrilling conclusion after five teams raced to win the first Sprint Race in the Formula Zero Championship. Greenchoice-Forze from the Technical University of Delft set the track record for the weekend in qualifying, but EuplatecH2 from Spain beat the Dutch team in the breathtaking final by just 0.172 seconds. |

TU DELFT WINS FIRST EVER RACE WITH HYDROGEN VEHICLESROTTERDAM – The first ever Formula Zero Championship race, which took place on the Willemsplein in the Dutch city of Rotterdam, was won by the Greenchoice-Forze race team from the Technical University of Delft. This Main Race, which consisted of a three-round bracket elimination with six lap runs, was followed by a big crowd alongside the temporary circuit. TEAMS COMPETE IN DESIGN COMPETITIONThere are already several university teams working hard towards the Design Competition. They have until June 2008 to come up with an innovative and stylish hydrogen fuel cell racing kart. The Design Jury will allocate a race package (fuel cell and hydrogen storage system) to the first seven teams that meet the design criteria. These top teams will then compete in the worlds first Formula Zero Championship. The championship will commence in June 2008. |
